The view from the bridge in the centre of Luddenden looking in the Warley direction. This picture was taken in 1955.
The building on the left was the Wolf Inn, later a sewing shop before it was demolished. Opposite was Mrs Wormald's green grocery on the right and Jack Tattershall electrical shop next door.
The edge of the building on the right hand side was The Bridge End Inn.
The Wolf Inn closed in the 1930s after it became the working men's club, It later became business premises and was demolished in the late 1950s and the land is now the village green. The Bridge End Inn was also demolished and is now a shared car park.
