Calderdale MBC Local Development Framework
Calderdale has produced a booklet - Core Strategy, Issues and Options, for consultation by interested parties, and in response to this, the Luddenden Conservation Society has made the following comments.

Chairman's Report 2008
Trevor Oaten writes about the major issues that have affected the village in 2008 in his Chairman's Report.

Mayor Making 2008
Angie Johnson was elected Mayor of Luddenden for 2008/9 at the Mayor Making on 11 September. Angie is only the second female mayor of Luddenden. She takes over from Jason Boom.

The Roll of Honour
The Roll of Honour once hung in the Old Working Men's Club in Luddenden village. It eventually found its way onto eBay where it was up for auction. It was purchased jointly by the Luddenden Conservation Society and the Luddenden Mayor's Fund and can now be seen in the Lord Nelson. Please visit The Roll of Honour site for more details.

Luddenden won a Gold Award in Yorkshire In Bloom 2007, as well as the Spring Floral Award. Please see the Luddenden In Bloom website or the Hebden Bridge Times for more details. The Lord Nelson won a Silver Gilt Award and landlady Debbie Collinge won the Sawley Arms Trophy "for individual promotion of Yorkshire In Bloom".

Luddenden Conservation Society

Luddenden is a village in West Yorkshire, England, close to Halifax. This site is run by the Luddenden Conservation Society, a charity established in 1975 (following Luddenden being made a Conservation Area in 1973) to:

  • improve amenities.

The Luddenden Conservation Society is open to all
who support the objectives.
